Overview
My research activities concern the field of Computer Vision. I am more specifically interested in:
- Computer Vision for Multidisciplinary research
- BigDBee project: NSF BIGDATA #1707355, "Large-scale multi-parameter analysis of honeybee behavior in their natural habitat". In collaboration with Edgar Acuña (UPRM), José Agosto (UPRRP), Tugrul Giray (UPRRP). Official webpage: https://bigdbee.hpcf.upr.edu/
- Segmentation and tracking of nano-particles in Environmental Transmission Electron Miscroscopy (2016-). In collaboration with Shinjae Yoo (BNL), Dmitri Zakharov (BNL), Eric Stach (BNL). Started as part of DoE Visiting Faculty Program, summer 2016.
- Wearable camera analysis: room, objects and activities recognition, 3D scene reconstruction and motion estimation
- Dem@care project: multisensor monitoring of activities of daily living (2011-2014)
- IMMED project: wearable sensors for diagnostics and treatment of Dementia (2009-2012)
- Object tracking and motion estimation in video sequences
- Hybrid visual/symbolic information fusion for the perception of the environment (2013- )
- Visual/inertial fusion for micro-UAVs (2011-2014)
- Parametric image alignment (2007-)
- Tracking using color distribution models (2004-2008)
- Role of visual motion for human-machine interaction (2004-2007)
- Image Segmentation
- Cheeger-cut based image segmentation (2011-2012)
