The Department of Computer Science, College of Natural Sciences at the Rí­o Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico announces a search to fill a full time, tenure track faculty position to begin in August 2016.

Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or closely related disciplines from an accredited university; professional and research experience in their area of expertise. The successful candidate must also have a solid academic preparation and be committed to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and possess teaching experience at the university level. It is required that candidates are fluent in English and Spanish at the time of appointment or, if fluent in only one of the languages, the candidates shall obtain working knowledge of the other language during the first three years of service.

Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars during the day, night and Saturdays; conduct research and publish in their areas of specialty; supervise theses, dissertations and professional practices; develop proposals seeking external funding; actively participate in departmental activities and projects, as well as those at the College of Natural Sciences and the Río Piedras Campus and to fulfill all other obligations of a teaching job. The responsibilities of the prospective candidate are covered by the bylaws of the University of Puerto Rico.
